BUT WE’VE GOT TO WAIT!  At the Talking Circles today we will look at how Advent makes us wait. Why do we wait for Christmas—or pretend to wait? Can we wait  for Christmas or do we have to get impatient and make it happen?  We will share things we hate to wait for and things that are worth the wait. Carol Dana will lead us as we explore ways we’ve found meaningful in preparing and waiting for Christmas.

December 10th – Advent potluck breakfast— Join us to celebrate together as a community at our annual Advent breakfast. Sign up in the narthex to indicate if you are able to bring food such as egg dishes, fruits, bread and other brunch favorites, or if you're able to help with setting up beforehand or cleaning up afterwards.

December 17th – Carols and Chrismons: Join us in the sanctuary as we sing Christmas Carols while decorating our tree with Chrismons. Shari Shull and the Worship and Music team will host us as our Advent waiting enters its last week and we prepare to celebrate Christ's birth.

December 24th – No forum for Christmas

December 31st – No Forum for New Years

For the forum on January 7th, 2024, Native American author, Reformed Church pastor and activist Mark Charles (Navajo) will be joining us virtually to respond to questions about his book with Soong-Chan Rah Unsettling Truths: The Ongoing, Dehumanizing Legacy of the Doctrine of Discovery.  For anyone interested, George Unruh still has four of these autographed books for sale at a price of $20 each.  You can email George here to arrange getting a copy.  This is a fantastic opportunity to have an Indigenous and learned voice answer our questions on the Doctrine of Discovery as we in the ELCA work through our Truth and Healing Movement.
