Sheep are a favorite subject of religious paintings and hymns, but being compared to sheep is not flattering. Sheep, generally speaking, are not that bright; they are all too ready to follow one another anywhere—even off a cliff. In a world filled with voices, each calling us in a different direction, how do we know which to follow?
