We Care for Creation
As a community of faith, we affirm that all of God's creation is sacred, acknowledging that our very breath and nourishment come from Mother Earth. We are thus called to live fully in relationship and harmony with her, to lovingly care for what God has made. With attention, intention, and action, we choose to work individually and communally toward conserving, protecting, and restoring the created world as we also work to deconstruct the systems threatening her very existence and health.
As part of Agnus Dei's committment to Creation Care, a "Green Team" was established. This team shares opportunities for advocacy, action items, and educational opportunities with the congregation in a timely manner.
Ongoing Creation Care Projects at Agnus Dei:
- Hard-to-Recycle Sundays occur 3-4 times per year, check our newsletters for current information. List of Accepted Items
- Reducing waste going into the landfill: This includes no single use cups, dishes, utensils, or paper napkins during fellowship hour and other events. In addition, all food waste is now deposited into our yard waste bin.
- Natural products used for lawn care and landscape care.
